40°C is the kind of temperature number that hides its severity. On the Celsius scale, it sounds like a large but unremarkable number. On the Fahrenheit scale, 104°F announces itself more clearly as something serious.

When does 40°C become dangerous?

Worth noting: 40°C is nowhere near the famous −40°, where Celsius and Fahrenheit converge. That coincidence is a much colder story.
